Different ways of creating—and what creating does to us.
An inquiry · at work, in progress
Why “creativities” (the plural)? I suspect creating takes different forms and works at different levels. I’m trying to make distinctions that help us notice and practice—not just multiply labels.
Sometimes we make something. Sometimes, in making it, we become someone we weren’t.
How do self-discovery and self-creation feed each other?
A creative urge can feel like a calling. It can also take possession. My hauntrepreneur thinks they have an idea, but the idea has them.
When does devotion nourish us, and when does it consume us?
A walk, a pause, or an unfinished experiment may be highly creative and produce little countable output. Sometimes creating and producing coincide. Sometimes they compete.
What looks unproductive from outside but feels creative from within?
For the creator first. The doing can be worthwhile in itself. Start with what we have; notice the trade-offs.

What in your own experience fits—or complicates—one of these frames?
A small example is welcome.
